CDFIs are an important part of our finance ecosystem. In 2024 alone, the Western Reserve Community Fund (WRCF) distributed over $5M in funding to over 100 small businesses/non-profits in Summit County. CDFI’s, like WRCF, make such a difference in our community.
As a founding board member (1982) and original board member of this community development credit union, I urge you to continue funding CDFIs that have a vital role in our community with its current housing crisis.
In Syracuse’s depressed economy, CDFIs have been a lifeline for aiding some of the most financially challenged residents and businesses. My credit union has leveraged CDFI funds to lift many households out of poverty, and we need this to continue.
