With help from an $8.5 million LISC predevelopment and construction loan, Cycle House in northwest Washington D.C. will be a first-of-its-kind green affordable housing development. The mixed-use, net-zero building with bike-friendly amenities is geared for residents at 30% to 80% of area median income and sets a high standard for eco-friendly construction in the area and beyond. D.C. Seniors Find a Supportive Home in New Affordable Assisted Living Community, with Help from LISC
A $2.1 million predevelopment loan from LISC helped Gragg Cardona Partners build The Residences at Kenilworth Park, an affordable housing complex adjacent to a wetlands preserve in Northeast D.C. offering supportive services for Medicaid-eligible and other qualified elderly residents 60 and older. The development meets high-quality accessibility standards and provides on-site certified nurses and aides, access to nature, community and nutritious food, among many other keys to well-being.

Medici Road
In April 2021, CIP provided a $934,000 acquisition loan to Medici Road to purchase a vacant lot in the Deanwood neighborhood of Washington DC’s Ward 7. Medici Road was founded by a graduate of CIP’s DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) Equitable Development Initiative (EDI) program. The loan was supported by funds from the Diversity in Development DMV Loan Fund (DiD-DMV), which was created to support developers of color in the DMV area using proceeds of a CDFI Program Financial Assistance award.
