Between 2005 and 2023, there was $700.1 million in total lending from CDFI Fund award recipients, including $74.3 million in loans to businesses and entrepreneurs, $345.9 million in housing development and mortgage lending, $245 million in consumer lending, $31 million in lending to commercial real estate and community facilities, with the balance going to other activities. Sweet smells and delicious treats have been a staple in the Old North Dayton neighborhood for over a century. A Troy Street building served as the original Kroger Bakery, and was later bought and run by the Evans family for over 50 years. In 2022, the Evans family decided it was time to move on from the bakery and put the business up for sale. A local baker, Benjamin Stuckey, saw the opportunity to keep the legacy alive.
