X-Cel Therapy grew from founder Karen Shambaugh’s vision to bring specialized Lymphedema treatment and high-quality physical therapy to rural Ridgeley, WV, expanding to serve about 100 patients a week with a staff of seven. The clinic launched and later purchased its facility with critical financing from Natural Capital Investment Fund — which has since changed its name to Partner Community Capital — after conventional lenders turned her away.
