The Merwyn Apartments is a rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of a 4-story historic building in downtown Astoria. Bond financing was originally provided for the extensive rehab of the building and NOAH provided a perm loan commitment upon completion and stabilization in 2022. The property consists of 40 units, with 36 units targeted predominately for workers in the service industry, a population underserved on the Oregon coast. The remaining 4 units will be unrestricted. Clatsop Community Action and Lower Columbia Hispanic Council have been engaged to provide support services and educational programs including eviction prevention, education, health, financial empowerment, and civic engagement.
