The former home of Hoffer's Tropic Life Pets, on Milwaukee's northwest side, has been sold to a Wausau-based group that plans to convert the building into a funeral home and community center. The 26,300 sq. ft. building, 7323 N. 76th St., was sold by Hoffer's Real Estate LLC to Wausau-based Elder Sanctuary LLC for $900,000, according to state real estate records. The group plans to convert the property into a multipurpose building to be used for funeral services, and a banquet hall with a focus on Milwaukee's Hmong community, according to MEDC. Elder Sanctuary also will provide transportation services for older people, and people with disabilities.
