Impact in the District

Between 2005 and 2023, there was $1.9 billion in total lending from CDFI Fund award recipients, including $574.5 million in loans to businesses and entrepreneurs, $608.9 million in housing development and mortgage lending, $303.4 million in consumer lending, $418.8 million in lending to commercial real estate and community facilities, with the balance going to other activities. The site marks the gateway to NewCorp's 7th Ward Revitalization Project that encompasses the St. Bernard Avenue Commercial Corridor and the LA State designated A. P. Tureaud Cultural District in the 7th Ward: N. Claiborne Avenue to Gentilly Boulevard and St. Bernard Avenue to Elysian Fields Avenue.

In the Greater New Orleans area, CrescentCare is known for delivering high-quality, person-centered health care through the NO/AIDS Task Force, which was founded in 1983 in response to the AIDS crisis. For 20 years, we supported this community-based organization to become and then thrive as an FQHC. In 2017, we provided $21 million in financing for a new 64,000-square-foot campus. This facility enabled CrescentCare to triple its capacity and create or preserve over 450 jobs.

It is a priority of the revitalization project to promote the return of "community" to the 7th Ward- harkening back to the day of a self- sustaining neighborhood where access to food, health care and personal care services were readily available to all residents.
