Enterprise Community Loan Fund

Artspace Commons North is a green, mixed-use artist community in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The development offers 102 affordable rent-to-own apartments and 53,000 sq. ft. of commercial space for offices, art galleries, studios and retail, on the site of a former scrap metal recycling facility. The development involved construction of a three-level commercial building with perimeter parking and an interior courtyard, and a four-story mixed-use building that houses commercial space on the ground floor and residences on the upper floors. Apartments are affordable to households earning up to 70 percent of area median income (AMI). At the end of the seven-year NMTC compliance period, the apartments will be sold as condominiums affordable to households earning up to 80 percent of AMI, with current residents having right of first refusal.

Atmosphere Studios moved operations to a long-vacant warehouse in Salt Lake City’s Granary District. Following the build-out into the new retail, office and showroom space, the growing design firm felt a severe cash crunch, and turned to NDC Grow American Fund for help.

The construction of a new 16,090 square foot facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. The project will allow the Bicycle Collaborative, a nonprofit providing bicycles and educational programs focusing on children, to significantly expand its services to low-income households in the Salt Lake City area.

Capitol Theater

Grow America Fund

The restoration of the 75,000 sq. ft. theatre will include an expanded lobby and increased circulation space. The theatre will also be refitted for ADA accessibility and new elevators for easier access. In addition, the project will finance the construction of an adjacent 51,000 sq. ft. dance studio for Ballet West. The new Jessie Eccles Quinney Center for Dance will increase current enrollment to 600 students and triple the number of Dance Acadamy scholarships provided to low-income students. The modernization and restoration of the treasured Capitol Theatre will allow the theatre to continue to serve as a center for the arts in downtown Salt Lake City for generations to come.
