CDFIs regularly identify strong projects that align with their missions but may require financing beyond an institution’s lending capacity or existing loan offerings. For Coalition members encountering these situations, partnering with another CDFI may provide an additional option for moving a transaction forward.
Clearinghouse CDFI, a CDFI Coalition member, is interested in exploring opportunities to partner with fellow CDFIs on larger or more complex community development transactions where additional capital or lending capacity is needed.
Clearinghouse CDFI provides real estate-secured financing for a range of community development projects, including affordable multifamily housing, community facilities, nonprofit real estate, community-serving commercial real estate, Tribal projects, and other projects serving underserved communities nationwide. Loan amounts can reach up to $17 million.
Potential partnership opportunities may include projects where a loan request exceeds a CDFI’s lending limit, a project or asset type falls outside an institution’s current offerings, or a transaction would benefit from a partner with experience financing larger or more complex projects. Clearinghouse CDFI may also be able to participate in or acquire existing performing loans when an institution is seeking additional capital capacity.
Coalition members with projects in their pipelines that may benefit from additional financing capacity can connect directly with Clearinghouse CDFI to discuss potential partnership opportunities.
