Following the White House’s March 14 Executive Order (EO), Sens. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) and Mike Crapo (R-ID), co-chairs of the Senate Community Development Finance Caucus, led a letter to Treasury Secretary Bessent signed by 23 senators emphasizing the bipartisan support for the CDFI Fund, and highlighting the fund’s critical role in providing capital to underserved communities.
The letter comes at an important time, under the terms of EO Treasury is required to respond to the Office of Management and Budget within 7 days.
The letter was also signed by Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), John Boozman (R-AR), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Gary Peters (D-MI), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Tina Smith (D-MN), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Steve Daines (R-MT), Tim Sheehy (R-MT), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Jack Reed (D-RI), Mike Rounds (R-SD), and Jim Justice (R-WV).
