CDFIs provide financial services, education and loans to support economic growth and development for families and small businesses. Many qualify, but are unable to secure needed funding through mainstream, traditional financial sources. The work of CDFIs enriches our communities and the quality of life for residents.
We want ALL entrepreneurs to have access to capitol to support their businesses. Especially those that may be deemed unbankable.
The CDFI Fund, and the organizations it serves, enable greater numbers of people to participate in the US economy in a positive way, creating jobs and businesses, while producing vital goods and services.
In Syracuse’s depressed economy, CDFIs have been a lifeline for aiding some of the most financially challenged residents and businesses. My credit union has leveraged CDFI funds to lift many households out of poverty, and we need this to continue.
