Mary J. Childs-Mayer, a CDFI Coalition Board Member, was recently appointed to the position of Senior Vice President of Origination and Relationship Management of CEI 7(a) Financing LLC (C7a). C7a is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coastal Enterprises, Inc. headquartered in Brunswick, ME.  She brings more than 22 years of relationship experience, lending and finance to C7a with specialization in business development and small business lending finance. She is looking to assist CDCs and CDFIs with access to long-term, reasonably priced capital to healthy and expanding small businesses across the country.  Most recently she held the positions of Government Relations Manager and Loan Officer for the National Development Council (NDC) headquartered in New York City. At the beginning of her career with NDC, Ms. Childs-Mayer was the Portfolio Manager of Grow America Fund (GAF), a national non-bank SBA 7(a) lender.

C7a, a Small Business Lending Company licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to make SBA-guaranteed loans to eligible small businesses, is owned by a non-profit Community Developer Financial Institution (Coastal Enterprises Inc.). CEI and its affiliates have lent over $1.2 billion to more than 500 small businesses. C7a’s lending focus extends CEI’s mission to help create economically and environmentally healthy communities in which all people, especially those with low incomes, can reach their full potential. It expands CEI’s national portfolio, which includes a New Markets Tax Credit practice, venture capital funds, sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and forestry work, and policy initiatives focused on the Triple Bottom Line return on investment – economy, equity, and environment.
