The Bicycle Factory is a mixed-use historic redevelopment of a former three-story manufacturing building consisting of 12,000 square feet of retail facilities and 21 residential units located in 27,000 square feet of residential facilities. 76 prepaid parking spaces were obtained from an adjacent property owner. The development represents the beginning of further investments along Front Avenue that will create a highly walkable urban area along the western bank of the Grand River. To that end, the project included extensive landscaping and other streetspace features that serve as a model for future development. The building includes a few tributes to the orginial structure, a vacant former bicycle factory which burned to the ground in 2007.
