Detroit CDFI coalition amplifies positive outcomes in communities across the city
Throughout Michigan, there are more than 55 community development financial institutions, with 47 of those CDFIs headquartered in the state. These mission-driven financial institutions provide support for consumers, businesses, and real estate projects where traditional funding isn’t available.
Lebowsky Center
The Owosso Community Players, at the Lebowsky Center, have a rich history that carries on the legacy of Joseph Lebowsky who opened The Capitol Theater in 1926.The Lebowsky Center reopened in 2014 continuing to rebound and grow after a devastating fire in 2007. Construction on the interior began in December 2012 and was completed in March 2014.
Harbor Shores
A land development company redeveloped over 250 acres of land in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph as part of a total 500-acre land development. Harbor Shores, a non-profit developer, envision the project as an investment into the future of Southwest Michigan and building are sort community and golf course as a catalyst to support ongoing economic, environmental, and social revitalization efforts.
Inner City Christian Federation
The 920 Cherry Street Project was a part of a comprehensive redevelopment of a three-acre site located at the intersection of Cherry Street SE and Cherry Drive SE in the city of Grand Rapids. The plan consisted of 37 new for-sale homes, 5,000 square feet of commercial space and the redevelopment of the historic D.A. Blodgett Home.
