Adriano Gomez owns Brothers Food Max, a full-service supermarket that opened in a food desert. A project that brought together many partners in the community, Finanta supported Adriano with capital and financial resources that helped transform the plaza into a shopping destination. Brothers Food Max created jobs and healthy cultural food options for many local Latinos.

Bob and Alissa Williams are cleaning up with their small business. Established in 2002, RW Maintenance started by offering basic janitorial services. Since then, the business expanded its scope of services to include commercial office cleaning, construction site cleaning, and customized property maintenance for businesses, real estate investors and developers throughout central PA.

Dirty Dog Hauling

One man’s trash proved to be another man’s opportunity for Leland Nelson. Having recognized a need for junk removal services in inner city Harrisburg, Leland developed a plan to launch his own business called Dirty Dog Hauling. All he needed was financing to get his business started. However, like many aspiring African-American entrepreneurs, he struggled to find a traditional bank that would approve a loan. Eventually, he connected with Finanta and completed the application process. Soon after, we provided him with financing to purchase his first dump truck and cover various start-up costs.

Credit Union – Family Impact

Our credit union helps our neighbors achieve their financial goals. Luvia Chentut De Paau and her family, Guatemalan refugees, were looking for a financial partner to help them achieve their goals of building credit and growing their savings. In their search, it was important to them to work with a team that understood their needs as immigrants and the complexities of moving to a new country.

Just Wellness

Licensed massage therapist Sarah Stich incorporates her wellness lifestyle into her business. Following her passion, she opened Just Wellness, a therapeutic spa that provides massage, facial and skin care services. After three years of success, Sarah realized she needed a larger location to grow her business. She found the perfect space right around the corner in a long-vacant building in the heart of downtown Hanover.

Sue’s Food Market

Sue Myers’ commitment to the Wrightsville community began over 36 years ago when she first started working at Andy’s Market, a small downtown grocery store. Twenty-five years later, she purchased the business, renamed it Sue’s Food Market, and made it her own. Soon after, Finanta provided a loan to refinance a previous private commercial mortgage for the mixed-use property, which included the store and five affordable-rate apartments.

Thee Barber Room

Ray Alfaro has been his own boss since his teenage years. Motivated by his passion for cutting hair, he received his barber’s license from Champ’s Barber School (a Finanta Client) at the age of 17 and started running his own barbershop out of his home in Gettysburg. His one-man shop gained more and more popularity over the years, requiring him to work 12-hour days to keep up with demand. Realizing the opportunity for growth, he decided to embrace his entrepreneurial spirit and expand his business.
